Offensive Line (8)
Starters: David Bakhtiari (LT), Josh Sitton (LG), JC Tretter (C), T.J. Lang (RG), Bryan Bulaga (RT)
Backups: Derek Sherrod (OT), Lane Taylor (OG), Corey Linsley (C)
Cut: Aaron Adams, Andrew Tiller, Garth Gerhart, Jordan McCray, John Fullington, Jeremy Vujnovich
Injured Reserve: Don Barclay
The recent Tretter injury news has to be concerning, especially considering the Packers “Plan B” at the position is a fifth-round rookie who has only taken a handful of snaps with the starters since training camp started. Tretter may not miss the whole season, but he’ll at least be out several weeks, meaning Linsley will have to learn fast before the season opener in Seattle.
Despite the uncertainty at center, the Packers still have four solid starters on the line, and Sherrod has bounced back from his rough St. Louis performance to reassert himself as the Packers’ top reserve offensive lineman. Taylor has been very consistent this summer and looks to be a lock for the Packers top backup guard spot.
Adams and Tiller have shown plenty of potential and should get practice squad consideration.
