Call me crazy but I’m not buying the turnaround for the Buccaneers so far. Mike Glennon played very well last year. 19 TDs to 9 INT with a rating of 83.9 for a rookie year. So the Bucs end the debacle they had with Schiano and bring in Lovie Smith who did a decent job when coaching the Chicago Bears in his tenure.
So you go out and acquire a journeyman quarterback who has really only had one decent half a season. I don’t know how that equates. But Tampa Bay was aggressive in free agency this offseason acquiring Anthony Collins from Cincinnati, Evan Dietrich-Smith from Green Bay to help a depleted offensive line.
Of course, I already mentioned the signing of Josh McCown. On defense, they made splashes with Michael Johnson from Cincinnati, Alterraun Verner from Tennessee and Clinton McDonald from Seattle.
Lovie is looking to ramp up a team in a hurry. Hope it works…
