NFL Week 2 picks by Lombardiave.com

facebooktwitterreddit

Coming off a week where I was 9-7 overall, I expect that I’ll pick up my game today with my overall NFL picks.

Who saw the Dolphins beating the Patriots last week? Or the Falcons beating the Saints? And how about the Vikings winning one on the road and taking the lead in the NFC North? How about Da Bears? WTH? Losing at home to the Bills?

Well, today we’ll take another stab at predicting the winners and scores for all games today and tomorrow.

Here goes …

Today, 12:00 PM on CBS

Ralph Wilson Stadium, Orchard Park, New York

Miami
Dolphins
(1-0)

@

Buffalo
Bills
(1-0)

Ok, this is a toss-up. Both of these teams are coming off huge wins last week, but I’m going out on a limb here and picking the Bills to win – but only because they are at home. The Bills at 2-0? Really?

Bills 23 Dolphins 17

Today, 12:00 PM on FOX

Bank of America Stadium, Charlotte, North Carolina

Detroit
Lions
(1-0)

@

Carolina
Panthers
(1-0)

The Lions won big last week against the hapless Giants. Today they face a much better defense and Matt Stafford will throw at least one pick. It looks like Cam Newton is back on the field today … and this time he will be wearing a uniform.

Panthers 20 Lions 17

Today, 12:00 PM on FOX

LP Field, Nashville, Tennessee

Dallas
Cowboys
(0-1)

@

Tennessee
Titans
(1-0)

The Cowboys show that they are as bad as they looked last week, while the Titans show that they are an excellent team.

Titan 27 Cowboys 13

Today, 12:00 PM on CBS

TCF Bank Stadium, Minneapolis, Minnesota

New England
Patriots
(0-1)

@

Minnesota
Vikings
(1-0)

The Vikings actually had a chance in this one before the Adrian Peterson situation blew up.

Patriots 29 Vikings 16

Today, 3:05 PM on FOX

Qualcomm Stadium, San Diego, California

Seattle
Seahawks
(1-0)

@

San Diego
Chargers
(0-1)

Now here’s an interesting matchup. The Seahawks are a different team on the road, but I don’t think they will be that different from what they showed last week.

Seahawks 24 Chargers 17

Today, 3:25 PM on CBS

Sports Authority Field at Mile High, Denver, Colorado

Kansas City
Chiefs
(0-1)

@

Denver
Broncos
(1-0)

It might be time to take a nap if you’re a Chiefs fan. This one won’t even be close.

Broncos 45 Chiefs 13

Today, 3:25 PM on CBS

O.co Coliseum, Oakland, California

Houston
Texans
(1-0)

@

Oakland
Raiders
(0-1)

Even without Jadaveon Clowney this Texans defense is good. The Raiders won’t even know what hit them by game’s end.

Texans 29 Raiders 10

Today, 12:00 PM on FOX

FirstEnergy Stadium, Cleveland, Ohio

New Orleans
Saints
(0-1)

@

Cleveland
Browns
(0-1)

Drew Brees is 0-1? That won’t last long as he shows the Browns and their fans what a real quarterback is all about.

Saints 35 Browns 12

Today, 12:00 PM on CBS

Paul Brown Stadium, Cincinnati, Ohio

Atlanta
Falcons
(1-0)

@

Cincinnati
Bengals
(1-0)

This might be the game of the day. I have a feeling that Matt Ryan continues to roll and the Falcons defense does enough to shut down the Bengals.

Falcons 22 Bengals 20

Today, 12:00 PM on CBS

FedEx Field, Landover, Maryland

Jacksonville
Jaguars
(0-1)

@

Washington
Redskins
(0-1)

Wow. Another sleeper, but Jacksonville’s defense will get it done today.

Jaguars 17 Redskins 13

Today, 12:00 PM on FOX

MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, New Jersey

Arizona
Cardinals
(1-0)

@

New York
Giants
(0-1)

The Arizona Cardinals go to 2-0 and do it with their defense and a sprinkling of offense.

Cardinals 21 Giants 13

Today, 3:05 PM on FOX

Raymond James Stadium, Tampa, Florida

St. Louis
Rams
(0-1)

@

Tampa Bay
Buccaneers
(0-1)

Rams vs. Bucs … hey, do you have a coin I can flip? This will be dominated by both defenses and will most likely be very low scoring. But I think the Bucs win only because the Rams have nobody under center.

Bucs 12 Rams 9

Today, 3:25 PM on CBS

Lambeau Field, Green Bay, Wisconsin

New York
Jets
(1-0)

@

Green Bay
Packers
(0-1)

The Packers in their home opener at Lambeau Field; Aaron Rodgers pissed off over his performance last week. The Packers show why they should still be considered one of the elite teams in the NFL.

Packers 42 Jets 17

Today, 7:30 PM on NBC

Levi’s Stadium, Santa Clara, California

Chicago
Bears
(0-1)

@

San Francisco
49ers
(1-0)

Can it get any worse for the Chicago Bears? They lost to the Bills last week, both their top receivers are questionable and they have to go into San Francisco’s new stadium to play the 49ers in their home opener.

49ers 35 Bears 13

Tomorrow, 7:30 PM on ESPN

Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis, Indiana

Philadelphia
Eagles
(1-0)

@

Indianapolis
Colts
(0-1)

Will the Colts really go 0-2? I don’t think so. They will find a way to slow the Eagles on Monday night and will win a close game.

Colts 24 Eagles 23
