If I had to give a “Most Improved” award out, it would (temporarily) go to Davon House.
From the travesty in the secondary last year to Davon House running side-by-side with Calvin Johnson, intercepting the ball near the end zone … it’s quite a transformation.
He’s been solid so far this year. Now, he isn’t the Packers first option in the nickel package, but with Casey Hayward injured (again), House is getting his opportunities and he seems to be making the best of them.
Even with an interception at the one yard line, I can’t fault the guy for making a play.
He was stretching out for that interception and spatial reasoning is out the window at the point. He didn’t know how close he was to the end zone and it could have been a touchback, for all he knew.
Congrats to the kid for making the splash play, it isn’t his fault or poor judgment on his part that the safety occurred right after.
