There is not enough praise in the world that could do this man justice.
Since holding half of the teams receptions to-date, Nelson was seeing more over-the-top safeties and more double teams than usual.
He wasn’t able to really spring open for the big play last week against the Lions, despite having 10 catches on the day.
While Nelson can’t win games on his own, he sure has the motivation to do so. When the offense was slumping hard, he was playing at the same elite level that we are accustomed to seeing and was a big reason the Packers came back to beat the Jets in week two.
He was on fire against the Bears, again.
Nelson and Cobb both went over 100 yards and hauled in two touchdowns, Nelson making an incredible catch in the corner of the end zone with Tim Jennings literally draped across his front.
He just makes those catches. He’s tippy-toeing the sideline, he’s sliding across the turf, he’s dancing off defenders and turning short passes into big gains; he’s a quarterback’s dream receiver and a security blanket if there ever was one. McCarthy was right, Nelson definitely spoils us, and I’m just glad he’s locked up for years to come.
