RBs – Eddie Lacy, James Starks

After a promising performance against the Vikings, we unfortunately got to see more of the usual against Miami.

Lacy and Starks combined for just 71 yards rushing last week. That is not ideal for attempts at balancing out the offense and keeping teams from loading up on the pass.

There is not too much to look forward to in terms of expecting things to turn around quickly, but this week would be as good as any for it to happen. As previously mentioned, the Panthers haven’t been strong against the run all year so it wouldn’t be crazy to think giving the ball to Lacy and Stark could bring about success.

In my eyes, these next two weeks should decide if fans should just give up on expecting the run game to work this year. Carolina and New Orleans both are weak in run defense, so if no success is found in those matchups just conclude it won’t be coming and hope Rodgers can continue to carry the offense forward.

For now though, hope is still alive and I’m thinking the Lacy/Starks combo will do a decent job at keeping the gameplan balanced.

Predictions: 80 yards, TD (Lacy); 70 yards (Starks)
Verdict: Start (Lacy); Deep-League Flyer (Starks)
