TEs – Andrew Quarless, Richard Rodgers
Last Week:
Quarless – 2 catches, 35 yards; 3.50 fantasy points
Rodgers – 1 catch, 19 yards; 1.90 fantasy points
And we’ve yet again reached the bane of my fantasy posts…the TE position.
Even with the jump in production against the Bears a couple weeks back, this is still easily the weakest spot on offense — and in fantasy.
Bostick, after grabbing that early TD versus Chicago, hasn’t seen much of the field since that play and as such been dropped from the list again. Rodgers continues to be used as mostly a blocker. Quarless meanwhile just isn’t an exciting option. After having good talent in this slot for a decent portion of recent years, it is saddening to see the lack of quality that has befallen this position.
Can’t do anything now but move forward though. Maybe the supposed increased emphasis on using the tight ends will help them produce better during the rest of the season. Plus, I’ll gladly take this piddly amount from the TEs if Green Bay continues having success anyway.
This week? I’m not seeing it. Your best hope is a random long catch or short red-zone TD; these are not things you bet on having happen for guys that rarely see targets in the passing game. Stay far away…
Prediction:
Quarless – 2 catches, 30 yards; 3 fantasy points
Rodgers – 1 catch, 10 yards; 1 fantasy point
Verdict: Do Not Start (All)
