Rodgers makes game-saving tackle
It was 2010 and the Packers had been up and down. What it all came down to occurred over a couple of weeks span.
The Packers beat the Chicago Bears in the final week of the season at Lambeau Field to qualify for the playoffs where they were the last seed.
Rodgers took the Packer to wins at Philadelphia and Atlanta – wins that set up the game of all games – Packers vs. Bears in the NFC Championship at Soldier Field in Chicago.
As always, it was a pitched battle where Bears quarterback Jay Cutler went out with an injury and the Packers held a slight lead throughout the day. Yes, probably the most visible play of the day was when B.J. Raji intercepted the Bears for a pick-six … see below.
But it was Rodgers play midway through the game that probably saved the win.
With Green Bay inside the Bears’ 10, Rodgers did the unthinkable – he threw an interception to none other than Brian Urlacher.
But it was what transpired after the interception that should be added to Rodgers’ most amazing moments.
As Urlacher rumbled down the right side of the field, Rodgers was in chase. As Urlacher made a move to avoid Rodgers, the Packers quarterback dove for Urlacher’s feet, literally making a shoestring tackle near midfield. The Packers defense then forced a Bears punt and the rest is history.
Had Urlacher scored on that play, it could have been a lot different outcome that day.
