TEs – Andrew Quarless, Richard Rodgers
Last Week:
Quarless – 1 catches, 7 receiving yards; 0.70 fantasy points
Rodgers – 0 catches, 0 receiving yards; 0.00 fantasy points
Tight ends provided nothing for the offense last week. These two combined for exactly one catch. Now I don’t expect much receiving production from these guys…but come on, one catch? Just one? That’s bad..
I’m thinking we could see a turnaround here, if only for one week. When you play bad teams, random stat-lines are more likely to happen. Easy to see why; bad teams will have breakdowns in more places, allowing those less-heralded players a chance to step up.
We could see the randomness that came up back against Chicago, with two TEs getting a TD. Actually, that’s exactly what I expect. Not only is Tampa Bay a bad team on defense overall, but they aren’t good defending the tight end (#25 in DVOA vs TEs) much at all.
It would not be all that reliable if you decide to pick either guy, but if you are in a bind and need a TE taking a flyer on either of these two might be worth your while.
Predictions:
Quarless – 4 catches, 35 receiving yards, 1 TD; 9.50 fantasy points
Rodgers – 2 catch, 25 receiving yards; 8.50 fantasy points
Verdict: Emergency Option (Quarless/Rodgers)
