Arizona State Sun Devils wide receiver Jaelen Strong (21).

I would be surprised if the Packers go wide receiver in the first round, but this may be where the best value will be come draft day.

I also expect the Packers to do everything they can to re-sign Randall Cobb to a multi-year deal after this season. However, even with that in mind the Packers could use more depth at wide receiver.

They did draft Davante Adams in the second round last year, who could turn out to be a valuable piece to their offense in years to come. They also added Jared Abbrederis and Jeff Janis in later rounds, but both players remain huge question marks going forward. Jarrett Boykin has also had a very disappointing season and may not have a roster spot next year.

Even if Cobb returns, it wouldn’t hurt for the Packers to add more talent to the receiver position.

Strong is a big, physical wide receiver, who amassed over 2,000 receiving yards and 17 touchdowns as a two-year starter in the Sun Devils’ offense.

Strong would be a nice insurance policy just in case things don’t work out for second-year players Adams, Abbrederis, or Janis in 2015. In the very least, he would add some much-needed competition to the No. 3-5 receiver positions.
