The Minnesota Vikings have been more quiet that many thought they might be in free agency. While much of the team’s future depends on what type of deal is worked out with all-world running back Adrian Peterson, they haven’t been completely sidelined when it comes to making other moves that might strengthen the team’s base.

While they traded tick for tack when they sent quarterback Matt Cassel to Buffalo and then brought in Shaun Hill, they did much the same when they traded for Miami Dolphins wide receiver Mike Wallace and then released veteran and former Packer Greg Jennings.
Wallace didn’t live up to the huge contract he signed two years ago when he left Pittsburgh for the South Shore of Florida, much like what Jennings did when he signed his mega-deal with the Vikings that same offseason.
And what will they get with Wallace?
Will they get the former first round selection who had so much raw talent and potential? Or will the get the big name free agent who didn’t fit in Miami, the player who hasn’t posted a 1,000-yard season since 2010?
Will the Vikings be improved with the swap of Wallace and Jennings. That remains to be seen.
The Vikings may continue to do big things this offseason, especially when it involves Peterson, but as of right now, they seem to be biding their time.
