Louisville Cardinals defensive end Deiontrez Mount (48) tackles Kentucky Wildcats quarterback Patrick Towles (14).

Tier Four

22. Deiontrez Mount, Louisville (6-5, 243)
23. Davis Tull, TN-Chattanooga (6-2, 246)
24. Deion Barnes, Penn State (6-4, 260)
25. Lynden Trail, Norfolk State (6-7, 269)
26. Alani Fua, BYU (6-5, 238)
27. Cedric Reed, Texas (6-5, 269)
28. Anthony Chickillo, Miami (6-3, 267)
29. James Vaughters, Stanford (6-2, 258)
30. J.R. Tavai, USC (6-2, 249)

The Skinny: There will be plenty of intriguing prospects available on day three of the draft.

Mountz headlines this group and is a versatile linebacker who can rush the passer or line up on the inside and play the run.

My two late-round sleepers are small-school products Davis Tull and Lynden Trail.

Tull was an undersized college defensive end who possesses the athletic ability and speed (4.57) to make a fluid transition to outside linebacker. He was also highly productive as a four-year starter in college, recording a whopping 37 sacks and 60 tackles for loss.

Coming from Chattanooga, Tull may face an adjustment period making the jump to the NFL, but he has all of the tools to become a solid player in the league.

Trail comes out of Norfolk State and has incredible measurables for the position. He’s long and athletic, and some teams even like him at tight end. He could emerge into a big-time player with a year or two of development.

Fua and Barnes are athletic prospects who had some decent college production, but they remain raw and could use some time to grow before they’re ready to be major contributors on a team at the next level.

Reed and Chickillo are good edge players but seem like better fits as 4-3 defensive ends.
