With the final day of the 2015 NFL Draft, the Green Bay Packers and GM Ted Thompson finally addressed the inside linebacker position, surprised everyone to trade up and select a quarterback and then used three rapid-fire picks in the sixth round to pick ???, ??? and ??? to round out their annual player acquisitions.
Today’s picks round out a draft that saw Thompson take two safety/cornerback hybrid players in the first two rounds and a wide receiver in the third round.
And with today’s selections, Twittersphere responded. The experts and the not-so-experts were sounding off today about the Packers picks.
So, without further ado, here is the reaction we were seeing throughout the afternoon …
On the Packers’ fourth round selection of Michigan linebacker Jake Ryan:
Looks like @JakeRyan_47 will be a good fit in Green Bay. #LambeauLeap

That's all from fourth-round draft pick Jake Ryan, who ends with: "I'm happy to be a Packer." #PackersDraft

Mel Kiper: I love Jake Ryan....This may be one of the best picks of Round 4.

Bill Polian: My favorite player in the draft.
Jake Ryan played OLB for first 3 years at Michigan, moved to MLB last fall & was Butkus finalist. Happy now, #Packers fans?

#Packers fourth-round pick Jake Ryan by the numbers:
— Jason Wilde (@jasonjwilde) May 2, 2015
6-2 3/8
240 lbs
Age 23
4.65-second 40-yard dash
Jake Ryan makes sense too. Both him and Heeney can run. Would think a more athletic guy to pair with Barrington. But what do I know?
