RB – Rajion Neal
When the Packers took a chance on Neal last summer, he made the most of his opportunities in training camp.
Unfortunately, a knee injury in the first preseason game, sidelined him from furthering himself with the team.
However, the Packers brought Neal back to the practice squad in November last year, re-signed him in January and gave him his second chance to live the life of an NFL running back this year.
Behind RBs Eddie Lacy and James Starks there are quite a few guys vying for a few spots. Neal has been in the midst of that conversation for the third RB position from the start.
He’s shown tenacity and burst in the running game – and has proven his versatility in the passing and return game, as well. Though Alonzo Harris and John Crockett have given the Packers reason to pause, Neal has been the more reliable option throughout.
He will definitely make the roster, as the Packers will more than likely keep four running backs. The most important thing to Neal – his name should be called on first if anything were to happen with the Packers’ known workhorses.
