James Jones: Morale at all-time high
Jones’ signing will boost morale with Jordy Nelson on the sidelines.
When Nelson went down in the second week of the preseason, even McCarthy admitted that it brought the entire team down.
When an integral part of your system is lost for the year, it is bound to let the air out of some tires.
Rodgers was visually upset and the next week the Packers were destroyed by the Eagles.
I’m not blaming that loss on Nelson’s exit – but it probably had a little something to do with it, morale-wise.
Jones gives a little bit of that light back to the locker room.
He is known, well-liked and a good addition to the team.
It doesn’t make up for the loss of Nelson, by any means; and Jones knows that.
He’s just happy for the opportunity to be back “home” and he and the team will do what needs to be down to make the most of it.
