Injuries are a funny thing. The Packers caught lightening in the bottle with resigning James Jones. ILB Desmond Bishop could be an option later in the season as other players start to get nicked up and are sidelined. Bishop signed with the San Francisco 49ers this year but his comeback was derailed by injury.

Another option might be Joe Thomas who seemed to play well during the preseason and is now on the Dallas Cowboys practice squad.

Packers, McCarthy evolved approach after sting of playoff loss by Alex Marvez, Fox Sports.

The sign of a good coach, player or person is that they learn life’s lessons and get better over time. Call it experience or personal growth, the fact is that most people (and wine) get better with time.

"“I know I’m better today than when I started this job (in 2006),” McCarthy told FOXSports.com at the end of the preseason. “I know today that compared to last year I’m doing a lot more and I’m doing different things. I would hope that equates to a better football team."

McCarthy, though, is quick to point out that his overall philosophy hasn’t changed one iota.

“I’m a big believer in getting to become comfortable being uncomfortable,” McCarthy said. “It’s a great method to grow. Individually, I’m ultimately trying to make my team better.”

But the Seattle loss was painful.

"“It still brings up emotions when we watch that game,” Packers fullback John Kuhn told FOXSports.com."

“Of course, it’s tough watching it,” Safety Morgan Burnett said of the NFC title game. “But there are a lot of good things you can learn from that film, things we did well and can improve on. That’s the exciting part about it. That’s what it’s all about growth and development.”

The Packers will be ready on Sunday night. All of Wisconsin and most of the nation will be watching to see if the demons from the NFC Championship game loss have been exorcised or whether they will continue to follow the 2015 Packers throughout the season.
