TEs – Andrew Quarless, Richard Rodgers
Last Week:
Quarless – 0 catches, 0 receiving yards; 0.00 fantasy points
Rodgers – 3 catches, 27 receiving yards, 1 carry, 11 yards; 3.80 fantasy points
As usual, the tight end spot has left me with much to be desired.
In terms of fantasy production at least.
As I’ve previously stated, I actually like both of the guys here in terms of makeup for the actual Green Bay Packers.
For fantasy purposes, however, they just are not nearly a good bet for giving a fantasy team any kind of reliable boost.
Rodgers did more than I expected of him last week, getting 4 touches for 38 yards. That’s unfortunately his high-water mark for what to hope for though; it will take a random TD to push him into respectable territory.
Quarless underperformed my meager expectations by getting absolutely nothing against the Bears. I don’t expect a repeat, but I’d say it’s much more likely than a good enough performance to warrant a bench spot on your rosters.
If things work well in the game, these two could both have a nice catch or two to sustain drives along the way; I’d probably bank on at least one of them making a first down reception or something simple like that.
Still though, unless that is specifically the way Green Bay decides to attack the Seattle defense, these two will not be worth a second thought to the fantasy realm.
Week 2 Predictions:
Quarless – 3 catches, 25 receiving yards; 2.50 fantasy points
Rodgers – 2 catch, 20 receiving yards; 2.00 fantasy points
Verdict: Keeping The Seat Lukewarm (Quarless/Rodgers)
