Green Bay Packers: Packers cured of ‘Colinitis’
By Doug Rogalla
Oct 4, 2015; Santa Clara, CA, USA; Green Bay Packers running back Eddie Lacy (27) runs the ball against the San Francisco 49ers in the first quarter at Levi
The Packers offense may not have been as precise and dominant as in recent weeks but it was balanced with 33 passing and 33 running plays called in the game. They also dominated time of possession, holding the ball for 36:34.
Aaron Rodgers was 22/33 for 224 yards, 1 TD and NO interceptions (again). He finished with a 80.6 ESPN QBR and a 99.0 passer rating. ARod also gained 33 yards on three scrambles that kept the chains moving. Another impressive performance by the MVP.
Eddie Lacy had a good day leading all running backs with 18 carries and 90 yards for a 5.0 yard average. Lacy’s bruising style helps loosen up defenses and slows the pass rush later in games. All-combined, the Packers had their best rushing performance, gaining 162 yards, averaging 4.9 yards per play. And don’t forget the big rushing touchdown by John Kuuuuuuuuuuuuuhhhnnnnnnnnnnnn in the 2nd half.
Packers also had 17 first downs, 9 rushing and 8 passing.
Red Zone efficiency was 50%, with the Packers scoring two touchdowns and a field goal on their four opportunities inside the 20 yard line.
Overall, a really solid effort by the offense.
