Green Bay Packers: Week 5 Fantasy Profile
By Kenn Korb
Oct 4, 2015; Santa Clara, CA, USA; Green Bay Packers tight end Richard Rodgers (82) catches a touchdown against the San Francisco 49ers in the first quarter at Levi
TE – Richard Rodgers
Last Week:
Rodgers – 5 catches, 45 receiving yards, 1 TD; 10.50 fantasy points
After all the flak I gave him in these posts last season, it seems Richard Rodgers is finally showing a semblance of the consistency I felt he could.
Now of course, that consistency hasn’t quite been in a fantasy sense (his performances have been off-on-off-on so far) but moreso in terms of staying involved in the passing game overall. Rodgers has gotten at least 3 targets a week so far, reaching 6 against San Francisco.
The fact that he’s involved fairs well for the hope that he can produce — you can’t expect to produce if not given the opportunity.
Working well as a threat over the middle and in the red-zone, he’s garnered himself a nice spot in the receiving hierarchy in Green Bay. That may change once Adams returns from his ankle injury, but at least for now he’s the third option for Aaron Rodgers.
Going with his current pattern of play, I am not banking on a huge game here, but a few catches isn’t out of the question. If a couple are nice gains — or possibly for a touchdown — even better.
Week 5 Predictions:
Rodgers – 4 catch, 40 receiving yards; 4.00 fantasy points
Verdicts: Possible Fill-In, With TD Potential (Rodgers)
