TE – Richard Rodgers
Last Week:
Rodgers – 6 catches, 45 receiving yards; 4.50 fantasy points
With 6 catches, Richard Rodgers showed himself to be a consistent target in this offense for another week. Unfortunately, that didn’t produce much; he only garnered 45 yards on those receptions.
It could have been a really good day though; he dropped what would have been a 30+ yard touchdown in this game. That is somewhat of a surprise considering his oft-discussed great hands, but we can draw at least one small positive from this: it’s not likely that he’ll have a drop like that again for awhile.
Rodgers definitely is beginning to appear to be the consistently targeted option in the passing game that I have been hoping he could be since sometime last season. Having a consistent spot in the offense means he’s likely to get a decent shot at getting multiple chances to produce.
Add that with his abilities as a red-zone option and he is looking more and more like a nice side-option at tight end for fantasy owners. In this particular week I personally don’t predict him getting a touchdown, but it’s not at all out of the question that it could possibly happen.
Week 6 Predictions:
Rodgers – 4 catch, 50 receiving yards; 5.00 fantasy points
Verdicts: Side-Option Red-Zone TE (Rodgers)
