A first round pick of the Packers in 2009, Matthews has been a name that every Packers’ fan has come to love here in Green Bay. His motor never stops working, and he is a true example of giving 110 percent on every single play, while being among the most feared players in the entire NFL.
Matthews was an instrumental part of the Packers’ 2011 Super Bowl Championship, and has become the leader of the Packers defensively.
The true definition of a franchise player, Matthews has been as versatile as ever in transitioning from the outside to inside linebacker position.

In his seventh season with the team, Matthews has provided 288 career tackles for the Packers along with 93 career assists. His 66.5 sacks rank third in Packers’ history, and it is safe to assume that he will catch Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila‘s franchise record of 74.5 sacks total.
Matthews has also produced 12 forced fumbles, 35 pass deflections and six interceptions. Though some may speculate it’s a little early to include Matthews as a top 10 defensive player for the Green Bay Packers all-time, we say he has already earned that accolade as he continues to be the staple of this franchise’s defensive future.
