The 2016 offseason has begun, Green Bay Packers fans.

The Packers are like any other team right now; by that, I mean they have work to do if they are going to be in position to compete for a championship in 2016.

Green Bay usually doesn’t really participate in free agency, preferring to bring in their talent through the draft.

Successful teams do tend to combine all avenues for team building, however, and Green Bay has used free agency in the past on some high-profile occasions.

With how much the weaknesses of this team were highlighted in 2015 — and with how many upcoming free agents this team has (18) — this could be the time where Green Bay does look more deeply into the talent in the free agent pool.

Maybe they even pick up a player or two in the process.

Some positions are more in need of reinforcements than others.

I’ll highlight some of those position groups the team could (and quite possibly should) look to improve through these means.
