Which players should the Green Bay Packers sign to new contracts this offseason?

Earlier in the week, I looked at players the Green Bay Packers should let walk in free agency. Now it’s time to name players the Packers should extend this offseason.

The Packers don’t tend to do much business with outside free agents, although exceptions have been made. GM Ted Thompson has his critics for his strict draft-and-develop philosophy, but what can’t be argued is his ability to maintain a healthy salary cap.

With financial stability, the Packers are almost always able to bring back their core players before they hit free agency. In recent seasons, Thompson has brought back Randall Cobb, Bryan Bulaga and Sam Shields. Other teams might have had to let them walk. The Packers have already re-signed Mike Daniels, who was the biggest name set to hit free agency on the roster.

Let’s look at some more names. Who should the Packers sign to new contracts this offseason? Four on this list are set to hit free agency this year, another isn’t a free agent until 2017. Let’s begin.
