TE Hunter Henry, Arkansas

Tight end is a major need for the Packers, but unfortunately the class isn’t deep at the position. This could turn Ted Thompson’s attention to Hunter Henry out of Arkansas, the best tight end of the bunch.

Mike McCarthy loves to feature his tight ends, but Richard Rodgers and Andrew Quarless have been no replacement for Jermichael Finley. The need for a ‘joker’ tight end is huge and could help the Packers’ offense reach its full potential. Henry could create mismatches down the field in the passing game.

You only have to look around the league to see how important a pass-catching tight end is in today’s game. Greg Olsen and Owen Daniels played pivotal roles for Carolina and Denver en route to the Super Bowl. Rob Gronkowski is a dominant force in New England and the emergence of Tyler Eifert added a new dimension for the Cincinnati offense.

At 6-foot-5, 253 pounds, Henry has a big frame and makes the most of it. He has a combination of great athleticism and strong hands which would make him an excellent asset in the passing game. Henry could be the missing piece to the Packers’ offense.
