Round 6: T Tyler Marz, Wisconsin

The Packers need to add some offensive line depth at some point in the draft. It could happen earlier than the sixth round, but a day three option could be Tyler Marz out of Wisconsin.

Tackles David Bakhtiari and JC Tretter are entering contract years, as are guards T.J. Lang and Josh Sitton. It’s unlikely the Packers will be able to bring back all four in 2017, so ensuring there is enough quality to replace them moving forward is important.

For the 2016 season, the Packers simply need more depth. The offensive line was banged up in 2015 and Aaron Rodgers’ health was put at risk because of it. Don Barclay probably won’t return to Green Bay, meaning a replacement is needed.

In the sixth round, the Packers could take a look at local lineman Marz. Marz has a lot to improve to his game, but he was a solid run-blocker for Wisconsin. Adding him on day three would make sense, and give the Packers a chance to develop his skills.

The tackle position is one to watch this offseason. The Packers could decide to pick a lineman much sooner than this due to the future of their current starters.
