T.J. Lang

They don’t come much tougher than T.J. Lang, who played through a long-term shoulder injury all year. Lang said after the season that he would require surgery, potentially on both shoulders. Yet he didn’t complain and just did his job in the interior of the Packers’ offensive line.

And it was another excellent season for Lang, who was graded the league’s fifth-best guard by Pro Football Focus. He finished fourth in pass protection. Lang was charged just two sacks all season, the fewest of any starter. The only lineman who allowed less was JC Tretter with one, but Tretter played on 58 percent fewer snaps.

Lang and Josh Sitton form one of the best guard tandems in the league, but both hit free agency after the 2016 season. The Packers have a headache determining what to do next. Lang is slightly younger (28) than Sitton (29), but both are equally important along the line.

Lang has played through injuries the past two seasons, which can expected when competing in the trenches on every snap, but kicking his shoulder injury will be important for the guard moving forward.

It was another great season for Lang.
