Round 4: RB Josh Ferguson, Illinois

Josh Ferguson is a fun player to watch. The Illinois running back is just 5-foot-9, 198 pounds, but he can be a useful addition on offense.

Ferguson has electric speed and acceleration and would be a perfect change-of-pace back for Eddie Lacy. Not only can he do damage in the backfield, he can be lined up in the slot and used as a receiver due to his precise route running.

Ferguson is able to change direction quickly and make defenders miss. Due to his speed, linebackers can be forced to take poor angles when tackling him which allows him to dodge tackles and add big chunks of yardage. He could immediately help in the screen game and add big-play ability on the ground.

There are concerns with his size and durability, and this could reduce his touches in the NFL. But behind the bruising running of Lacy, the two could complement each other well.

James Starks is a free agent and his future is uncertain. Should he walk, the need for a running back will increase which could bring a player like Ferguson into play. Even if Starks stays, drafting a talent like Ferguson would be a good move if he falls to the fifth round.
