Round #3

player. 49.
Even though the Packers already re-signed Letroy Guion and are on the verge of bringing B.J. Raji back, Green Bay still lacks a pure five-technique defensive end on their roster. They were hoping Datone Jones would develop into this role when they selected him in the first round back in 2014, but that has still yet to pan out.

Chris Jones, on the other hand, would give Green Bay a player built for a five-tech DE role in a 3-4 front. Jones is an explosive athlete with huge upside. Towering at 6-foot-6 and 310 pounds, he doesn’t play with the best leverage, making him an awkward fit at nose tackle. However, his height, length, and athleticism are well suited lined directly over the tackle as a 3-4 defensive end.

Jones has plenty of holes in his game, but his upside is too high to pass up here at the end of the third round. He could develop into a very good player in the NFL. Other players I considered selecting here were Florida inside linebacker Antonio Morrison and North Dakota State tackle Joel Haeg.
. Defensive Line. Mississippi State. Chris Jones. 88
