Round #4b

49.
Martinez is one of the more solid linebackers in this year’s draft. Stout against the run, Martinez makes plenty of plays between the tackles. He’s also a decent athlete and can hold his own in coverage.

While he may not be a Pro-Bowl level talent at the next level, Martinez should contend for a starting role in the NFL as a rookie. He’s smart, instinctive, and tough. He’s a natural leader on the field and could compete with Jake Ryan and Sam Barrington for playing time at inside linebacker.

Given I had the Packers select Correa already in the first round, Martinez gives Green Bay a true inside linebacker that could offer depth at the position or compete for a starting role if the experiment of moving Correa to the inside doesn’t work out.

Drafting both Correa and Martinez gives the Packers plenty of options at both inside and outside linebacker going into next season.
. Inside Linebacker. Stanford. Blake Martinez. 132. player
