DT Nick Fairley, Los Angeles Rams

The Packers know a thing or two about Nick Fairley, who was with the Detroit Lions for four years before signing a one-year deal with the Los Angeles Rams 12 months ago. Fairley was apart of the dominant defensive line featuring Ndamukong Suh during the Lions’ 11-5 season in 2014 which led to a playoff berth.

Fairley was given a one-year prove it deal with the Rams, and he passed the test. Fairley earned an 82.0 grade by Pro Football Focus, ranked 23rd among interior defenders. He’s a disruptive force up front who can help out against the run and pass.

Could Fairley make the transition to a 3-4 defense? That’s the ultimate question. He’s had the luxury of working alongside Suh and Aaron Donald in recent years. But the thought of putting Fairley on a defensive line featuring Mike Daniels is interesting.

Fairley will have a lot of attention after a strong season which could drive him out of Green Bay’s price range. The Rams will be desperate to bring him back and keep the combination of Fairley and Donald together long-term. It’s a long shot, but adding him to the Packers’ defensive line would be a lot of fun.
