Deion Jones, LSU

Despite being listed as an outside linebacker, Deion Jones would almost certainly make the switch inside if drafted by the Packers. Jones is an excellent athlete and would add speed on defense. He has the ability to chase sideline to sideline and make plays.

Considering Jones could fall into the third round, he would offer the Packers tremendous value. Here’s what Jon Dove of With The First Pick had to say:

"“The first thing that jumps off the screen when watching Jones is his quickness and closing speed. He’s able to close on the ball carrier and make plays from sideline to sideline. When he trusts his reads, Jones is able to shoot into the backfield and produce tackles for loss.”"

Jones could be the coverage linebacker the Packers need to take over from Clay Matthews, and his ability to make plays on the ball is exciting to see. In 2015, he defended three passes with two interceptions. With his speed, he has the potential to take picks to the house — Jones returned one interception for a touchdown last season.

The LSU product is far from the finished product and could drop all the way to the third round, but with his athleticism and speed, Jones deserves a look.
