Green Bay Packers: What to expect with 27th pick in 2016 NFL Draft
Deone Bucannon
As per profootballreference.com:
College: Washington St./(school history)
Drafted by the Arizona Cardinals in the 1st round (27th overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft.
If there was a player that intrigued me a couple of years ago heading into the draft – a player I hoped was near the top of the Packers draft board – it was Deone Bucannon.
He’s a unique athlete who brings a whole new look to the Cardinals defense. How they use his speed and instincts to find the football has made him a unique player in this league.
He has also put up some statistics in his first two years that are impressive for such a young player.
Bucannon has intercepted just one pass – a pick-six last season, he has also been strong in rushing the passer and making tackles. In all he has five sacks in two years, 159 tackles, 36 assists and started all 16 games in 2015.
The Packers, who picked #21 in 2014, selected Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, a player who has stood out as one of Ted Thompson’s best picks in several years.
In Clinton-Dix’s two seasons, he has 156 tackles and 48 assists. He also has three interceptions, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. Clinton-Dix’s ability to crowd the line of scrimmage and to move to the ball has been impressive. Overall, he has been a solid addition to the Packers backfield.
