Nick Vannett, Ohio State

Ohio State’s Nick Vannett ticks off a lot of boxes required to fit what the Packers are looking for at tight end. He has great size (6-foot-6, 257 pounds) and athleticism. As a pass-catcher, Vannett has soft hands and isn’t afraid to make tough catches in traffic.

Due to his lack of usage as a pass-catcher in Ohio State, he has slipped down draft boards. But he’s more than capable of being used in that role.

Lombardi Ave’s Dan Dahlke spoke with Vannett about the possibility of playing in Green Bay:

"“It would be very humbling. All of that history and rich tradition the Packers have would be awesome to experience and be apart of. Especially getting the chance to play with one of the best quarterbacks in the game. Aaron Rodgers makes players around him better. It would be cool to pick his brain about the game.”"

As well as his clear receiving ability, Vannett would also give the Packers the run blocker on the edge they need. With all of his talents, the Ohio State product has the potential to become an every-down player.
