Round 4: WR Tajae Sharpe, Massachusetts

If the 2015 taught the Packers anything, it’s that they need to find Jordy Nelson’s successor at some point. Nelson’s lost season exposed a major lack of talent on the boundary. Randall Cobb is a dangerous slot receiver and James Jones helped plug a hole, but the offense lacked a threat outside the numbers who could take the top off a defense.

Nelson is expected to return fully healthy way in advance of the 2016 season, but at 30-years-old the Packers need to be proactive in finding the heir to his throne.

Tajae Sharpe has the potential to be that guy. Sharpe is just 21-years-old and is still developing his game and filling out his frame, but he could already give the offense a jolt. The 6-foot-2 wideout has the athleticism to get open on the boundary, but he can line up just about anywhere. Sharpe runs good routes and has strong hands, and can also get open against press coverage which will be music to the ears of Mike McCarthy.

As a rookie, Sharpe could be a useful addition on offense. With development, he could become a major piece on offense.
