Round 4: OLB Joe Schobert, Wisconsin

Upgrading the pass rush isn’t as big of a need as there is at tight end of inside linebacker, but is still high on the agenda. Despite registering 43 sacks last season — good for No. 7 in the league — 10.5 of those belonged to Julius Peppers who is likely entering the final year of his career, with the Packers at least.

Peppers’ snap count is again expected to decrease at 36-years-old, and even with Clay Matthews making a full-time switch back outside, Green Bay needs to find another edge rusher capable of getting after the quarterback. They may need to look no further than down the road in Wisconsin with Joe Schobert. Rob Rang of CBSSports.com likes the mid-round prospect:

"“More than the sum of his parts, Schobert is the kind of hyper-active, ultra-productive defender who can “surprise” at the next level despite his less-than-ideal size. He’s effective in a variety of roles, showing terrific quickness, balance and surprising strength to be a factor in run support, coverage and rushing the quarterback.”"

Schobert might never develop into a star player, but he would add value as a rotational pass rusher immediately, which is something the Packers are losing in Mike Neal.
