Round 4: OG Graham Glasgow, Michigan

Depth at tackle is important, but the Packers might be in the hunt for a new starting guard for 2017. Of the four offensive linemen set to hit the market next year — tackles David Bakhtiari and JC Tretter as well as a guards T.J. Lang and Josh Sitton — it feels almost certain at least one of the guards won’t return.

Lane Taylor looks to be a successor at one of the spots after signing a new two-year deal. The Packers will hope he’s capable of making the jump in 2017. Assuming one of either Lang or Sitton returns, Green Bay could have its starting pair guards set. By drafting Graham Glasgow out of Michigan in the fourth-round, there would be some more insurance.

Versatility is key, and Glasgow can play both guard spots and center. He would provide backup in year one with the potential to be a starter in the NFL with some development. The Packers need to have an eye on the future with two critical players hitting free agency at the same time. Maybe Lang or Sitton returns, but there’s a chance neither does. In such a case, having a young guard with a year to develop in Green Bay would be crucial.
