Green Bay Packers latest seven-round mock draft
Round 6: WR Geronimo Allison, Illinois
There is plenty of depth at the wide receiver position for the Packers this year, but there’s no reason why they won’t take a late-round flier on another young pass-catcher who can provide some competition for a spot on the depth chart in camp.
Geronimo Allison has good height at 6-foot-3, and he has the straight-line speed and athleticism to become a deep threat in the NFL. Rob Rang of CBSSports.com sees Allison as a project with potential:
"“Teams looking to inject some big-play potential at receiver will be sure to consider Allison, a late-blooming vertical threat with the length and athleticism to project as a fourth receiver relatively early in his career and perhaps developing into much more with time.”"
That’s perfectly fine for the Packers. They are set at the top of the depth chart with Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb and either Davante Adams or Ty Montgomery as the No. 3. Jeff Janis is likely to secure a roster spot, which could leave a battle between Allison and Jared Abbrederis as a No. 6.
Allison is another young receiver worth developing in Green Bay.
