GEORGE KOONCE

Koonce wasn’t the flashiest linebacker who made splash hits or racked up gaudy sack numbers. He was an active defender with above-average speed who could play all three positions and produced a lot of tackles as a result.

Originally signed by the Falcons, Koonce played for the World League in 1992 before becoming a Packer later that same year. He was a mainstay in Packers News until the end of the 1999 season.

The 47-year-old former athlete has had a very successful post-NFL career in a variety of administrative and leadership roles. He is currently furthering his education at Harvard.
