Round 7: CB Juston Burris, NC State

With Casey Hayward signing with the San Diego Chargers, it would be hardly surprising to see the Packers draft another young cornerback to develop. It’s such an important position, so ensuring there is always young talent coming through is important.

Juston Burris out of NC State could be that guy in the seventh round. Burris has good size for the position at 6-foot, 212 pounds. Dane Brugler of CBSSports.com believes he can earn a place on the roster through special teams immediately:

"“Burris isn’t an elite speed player, but plays with the physicality and ball awareness to fight for playing time early in his career. He is ideally-suited for press-man and will earn his keep on special teams coverages.”"

Finding a home on special teams while learning the intricacies of playing cornerback in the NFL would make him a good pickup in the seventh. The Packers are loaded at corner, but adding another young piece to such an important position is always important to do.
