Round 6 (200): DB Deiondre’ Hall, Northern Iowa

A number of defensive backs entering the league now have the versatility to line up at both cornerback and safety. Damarious Randall and Micah Hyde are examples of this in Green Bay, and they could add another with Deiondre’ Hall out of Northern Iowa in the sixth round.

Hall has played both safety and corner and would initially give the Packers some more depth to the defensive backfield, with no pressure to be forced onto the field early on. With time, he can be developed into a regular member of Dom Capers’ defense.

The Packers are loaded with talent at cornerback. Randall, Sam Shields and Quinten Rollins offer an ascending young trio at the position, and Ladarius Gunter has plenty of potential behind them. Hyde is a useful depth piece who can line up at multiple positions.

It’s unknown what Hall’s main position will be in the NFL, but with added bulk he could be better suited as a safety. He has good instincts and a knack of making interceptions with six in 2015.
