Week 3: vs. Detroit Lions

We can finally stop talking about the Lions not winning at Lambeau Field since 1991, because they left victorious last season despite their best efforts to throw away the game. Mason Crosby’s scuffed field goal at the end of regulation was a deflating way for the streak to end.

Records are meant to be broken, but this year the Packers can start a new winning streak over Detroit, and they should be too strong for their talented rivals at home. The Lions’ defense will be better with DeAndre Levy’s return, but the unit isn’t what it was two years ago.

Prediction: Win (2-1)

Week 4: BYE

Week 5: vs. New York Giants

The New York Giants broke the bank to find reinforcements on defense this offseason. Will it be enough to help Eli Manning go after a third Super Bowl ring? I’m not so sure about that, but the Giants will be no pushovers.

Odell Beckham Jr. is the toughest proposition for the Packers’ secondary, and it’s possible New York goes after another wideout in the 2016 NFL Draft.

Despite that, put Manning under pressure and he is prone to turn the football over. So long as Aaron Rodgers protects the ball, the Packers will get the job done at home.

Prediction: Win (3-1)

Week 6: vs. Dallas Cowboys

This is becoming quite the rivalry. From the Matt Flynn-led comeback in 2013 to the Dez Bryant non-catch in the 2014 playoffs, these two have had some entertaining games in recent years. Tony Romo didn’t suit up in last year’s meeting, but assuming he’s back to full health in 2016 this game will be much tougher for the Packers.

Dallas will be the favorites to win the NFC East, and they have the fourth overall pick to help them on their way. Despite that, this game is at Lambeau and I expect Green Bay to hold serve.

Prediction: Win (4-1)
