WR Charone Peake, Clemson

The wide receiver class has been named one of the worst in recent memory, but that’s not to say the Packers can’t find a diamond in the rough. Charone Peake is a name to circle on day three of the draft.

Peake has good size (6-foot-2, 209 pounds), is a strong player with the speed and ball skills to excite teams. Peake has the skill set to burn defenses deep or attack the middle of the field. So why could he drop so low in the draft?

Two knee surgeries will do that. A player’s best ability is his availability, and a torn ACL in 2013 puts a red flag next to his name. Peake has also drawn concerns due to his small hands, although he makes up for this due to his talent and ability to do so much.

In the mid-to-late rounds, a team will take a chance on Peake and look to develop him into a key contributor on offense. The Packers have held many visits for day three prospects at the position, and Peake is certainly one to look out for. In Green Bay, he could become a highly productive receiver.
