Freddie Boston: OLB Victor Ochi, Stony Brook

Previous picks: DE Noah Spence, DT Austin Johnson, ILB Kentrell Brothers, TE Nick Vannett, OT Alex Lewis, OG Landon Turner

So far in my mock draft, the Packers have added a talented pass rusher in Noah Spence, filled some defensive needs at tackle and inside linebacker and added depth along the offensive line and at tight end. In the fifth round, another pass rusher is selected with Victor Ochi out of Stony Brook.

Ochi comes out of a small school which makes him more of a projection rather than the sure thing. What shows up on tape is that he’s an explosive athlete with a strong motor. As a rookie he would almost certainly be limited to a useful role player who comes on for obvious passing downs.

His lack of speed, small size and level of competition will cause him to drop in the draft, but he is one of my late-round sleepers to watch out for in the draft. Ochi has the physicality and power to play at outside linebacker in a 3-4, and he has the raw tools for Dom Capers and the Packers’ coaches to work with.

Ochi is more of a project as opposed to a solid player who can help out from day one, but there’s a lot to like about the Stony Brook product.
