7. Greg Jennings (Freddie’s pick)

Ted Thompson has been historically successful when it comes to selecting wide receivers in the second round of the draft. With Greg Jennings, he struck gold.

It didn’t take long for Jennings to make his mark in Packers News, either. After a strong rookie season with 45 receptions for 632 yards and three touchdowns, he put up 920 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2007. He was tied for fourth in receiving touchdowns that year and would have had a shot at finishing first if he hadn’t missed three games (and if Randy Moss didn’t post a ridiculous 23 touchdowns).

By his third season, Jennings was easily one of the Packers’ best wideouts in the Aaron Rodgers era, posting three straight 1,000-yard seasons. From 2008-10, Jennings caught 224 passes for 3,670 yards and 25 touchdowns.

And he played a key role in the Packers’ Super Bowl success in 2010. Jennings went touchdown-less in the three playoff wins which led to the season finale in Dallas, but he hauled in two touchdowns in the Packers’ 31-25 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers to help land the franchise’s fourth Lombardi Trophy.

Despite leaving for the Minnesota Vikings in 2013 and his comments directed at Rodgers and the Packers that offseason, there’s no denying Jennings is one of Thompson’s top draft picks.
