29. Davon House (Freddie’s pick)

I go from one compensatory pick to another with Davon House. The Packers used one of their bonus selections in the fourth round of the 2011 NFL Draft to land the cornerback out of New Mexico State, which is coincidentally the same compensation they received this year after his departure in free agency.

House was never a shutdown corner or even a certain starter in Green Bay, but he played a valuable role at a premium position. When he was able to stay on the field and avoid injury, he was a productive cornerback which led to his lucrative deal in Jacksonville a year ago.

House finished his time in Green Bay having tallied 99 tackles, a pair of sacks and two interceptions over a 40-game span. The only thing holding him back in Packers News was a frustrating number of injuries, which he was finally able to kick in his debut campaign with the Jaguars in 2015.

Ted Thompson didn’t hit the ball out of the park when selecting House, but what he received was a valuable player who played a critical position (and played it well), and then moved on and allowed the Packers to receive the same compensation they used to select him in the first place.

Next: No. 28 (Ray's pick)
