Green Bay Packers: Five burning questions entering OTAs
How much has Brett Hundley improved?
Brett Hundley impressed the Packers’ coaching staff so much last year they were happy to let Scott Tolzien depart for Indianapolis in free agency. Hundley, the man the Packers traded up to grab in the fifth round of last year’s draft, is set to take over the reigns at the backup spot, only ever a play away from being called upon in regular season action.
Hundley impressed in preseason a year ago, albeit a small sample size. He went 45-of-65 for 630 yards, seven touchdowns and just one interception. His passer rating of 129.6 led the league.
This was just the beginning for Hundley, who has since had an entire season to learn from the two-time MVP and learn the intricacies of his game under coach Mike McCarthy. The Packers are clearly excited with the second-year player’s potential and development, which has led to his promotion up the depth chart.
In OTAs, we’ll catch a glimpse of just how far he’s come since last September. What has he done to improve his game, and can the Packers count on him to earn victories should Aaron Rodgers be forced to miss any time for the first time since 2013?
