NFC North: Top Five fantasy sleepers
KEVIN WHITE
There is no mystery that the Bears need the seventh-overall pick of the 2015 draft to put up numbers due to the team’s lack of depth at wide receiver.
There’s no doubting the fact that White must become a focal point of the offense for Chicago to prosper in 2016 when you consider that Alshon Jeffery and Eddie Royal are no strangers to injury and that Maquess Wilson’s broken foot may land him on the PUP list putting him out of action for the first six weeks of the regular season.
At about six-foot-two, the long-armed wideout has the strength to get off the jam at the line of scrimmage and 4.3 speed to separate from defensive backs.
As a starting receiver, White will also play a key role in picking up the slack for the combined 138 targets left behind by former teammates Martellus Bennett and Matt Forte.
The former West Virginia Mountaineer’s ADP (average draft position) is 81 overall, which means he’s typically being drafted in the seventh round as a WR3. If healthy, there’s little reason why White cannot perform as a WR2.
Also working in White’s favor is Jay Cutler’s progress under the direction of John Fox’s coaching staff.
The 33-year-old quarterback produced a career-high 92.3 passer rating and already has a great rapport with his new offensive coordinator, Dowell Loggains, who served as his position coach last season.
