5. Ty Montgomery, WR

The former third-round pick has spent the past the eight months recovering from the ankle injury from hell. Montgomery hasn’t yet been medically cleared for the start of training camp despite accounts of him moving around pain-free in the offseason.

The former Pac-12 phenom was a quick study in picking up the offensive scheme and showed the ability to make plays as both a pass catcher and special-teams return man.

Montgomery’s instant acceleration of out his breaks, strength to break tackles and versatility to line up at all three receiver spots make him a weapon that the Packers will try to get on the field as often as possible.

This explosive Swiss Army knife of a player possesses the mental aptitude, physical tools and work ethic to claim ownership of the third receiver role.

Montgomery’s presence added a new dimension to Green Bay’s attack at the beginning of the season. It’s no coincidence that the offense hit the skids following his ligament damage in Week 6 before things finally started coming around in the playoffs.
