Wide receiver (6)

Jordy Nelson

Randall Cobb

Ty Montgomery

Davante Adams

Jared Abbrederis

Trevor Davis

Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb were the only locks at wide receiver entering training camp. Four spots remain up for grabs.

Ty Montgomery’s return from a significant ankle injury is great news for the Packers, and he is the favorite to grab the depth chart’s third spot behind Nelson and Cobb. Davante Adams drops down to fourth.

Jared Abbrederis earned Aaron Rodgers’ trust last season, his precise route-running a key to making the roster. Abbrederis may prove too talented to cut, staying healthy his biggest obstacle.

Special teams awaits rookie Trevor Davis with offensive opportunities limited, a candidate to take on return duties.

Jeff Janis misses out, although the Packers may decide to place him on injured reserve after suffering a fracture in his right hand. The third-year pass catcher has struggled in training camp, and injured reserve would be a means of keeping him in Green Bay. In the case of an emergency, NFL policy allows teams to return one player from injured reserve after eight weeks.

Undrafted Geronimo Allison makes a strong push, but ultimately misses out.
