Experience in December

The Packers are a young football team, but the grizzled veterans have been here before. Many times. Winning in December is commonplace in Green Bay, and they know what it takes to get it done at the most critical time of the year.

The same can’t be said of the Lions, a team that’s made a habit of disappearing in December rather than emerging as championship contenders. Since 2011, Green Bay is 16-5 in the month of December. Detroit is 8-13.

Remember 2010? The Packers needed to win their final two games or miss out on the playoffs. Under immense pressure, they pulled through and wouldn’t lose again. They’ve played all three division rivals in an NFC North decider over the past three years, winning two.

Aaron Rodgers’ rainbow to Randall Cobb on fourth down to not only win the division, but condemn the Bears to another playoff-less season, will forever be etched in the minds of Packers fans.

The Packers know how to win when the pressure cranks up. They’ve already saved their season twice this year. There’s no reason to believe they won’t do it again.
